American Teacher

These are some sketches of one of my favourite American Literature teachers. He always really stunk of booze - crazy dude that he was... but the way he taught was poetic. In fact, he sounded and behaved like Morgan Freeman when he is acting "the wise man". I remember shedding a tear when he was teaching us about Toni Morrison, especially when he read passages from 'Beloved'....I must have been hungover as well :) I hope he is ok these days...

Wildebeest & Pangolin

Me and Dad did these in the kitchen the other day when we were watching a David Attenborough doc. Dad did the Pangolin and I did the Wildebeest.

Fact of the day: Pangolin's are often mistaken with Armadillo's but Pangolin's are only found in Africa and Asia, whereas Armadillos are only found in America & South America. Pangolins have really scaly skin.

Car Waterfall Girl

I re-discovered these doodles the other day when I was going through my English Lit notebooks...

These sketches are drafts that I was doing of an idea I had for a painting for some friends about a girl showering in a waterfall of cars. Kind of stupid/abstract but I really liked the idea. Ended up painting it in acrylics and sticking on pictures of cars from newspapers.. and covering it with gloopy sea through glue so it looked wet...
